About UsThe last words I heard my chidren's pediatrician say when she heard we were moving to Kansas were,"Kansas City has one of the greatest Children's Hospitals in the nation. I wish it would have worked out for me to do my residency there." At the time I thought, "That's nice, but we'll never need it." Little did I know how often those words would come back to me. Our son Ian was diagnosed will Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in April of 2008. After 3 long years of treatments, we are at the end. We wanted to celebrate him having his last chemo treatment by giving back to the community. Children's Mercy has been wonderful to our family and many others throughout the years. They are a non-profit hospital and greatly benefit off of donations. We are organizing the event Laps For Leukemia as a fundraiser. All proceeds from this event will be given to Children's Mercy Hospital. |
